"MINI-RANGE" for Restricted Area Solutions

The above illustrations depict the Nike/Open Championship demonstration area. Initially using the deployment by Nike as a catalyst we have evolved packaged mini-range solutions with the following options:
* EXTENDED NETTING - From short nets to cover only the immediate front area of the unit/s, to extended netting over 20 to 50 metres. The netting can be designed to suit any particular location, whether fully enclosed using a netting "roof" or otherwise.
* LIMITED DISTANCE BALLS - These specially designed lighter-weight balls offer virtually the same impact and flight characteristics as conventional golf balls. Generally flying around a little under half the distance, ball collection is rendered much less onerous. Naturally these balls also have the advantage of being inherently safer to use in more confined areas. They are particularly suited to the coaching requirements of beginners, junior players and general schools use.
* ANCILLARY EQUIPMENT - The packages include all attendant equipment necessary to create a mini-range.
* ASSET FINANCE ACQUISITION - The ability to acquire the unit/s and all required equipment using formal finance leasing/lease purchase agreements. This assists greatly with both start-up costs and the off-setting of lease charges set against income where the facility is used commercially, to generate income from the range.
MINI-RANGE APPLICATIONS
Using the wide range of options for units, equipment and financing, renders new opportunities for all establishments listed below:
SCHOOLS COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES
HOTELS - FROM GROUP TO INDIVIDUALLY OWNED
SPORTS AND RECREATION CLUBS
LOCAL AUTHORITIES - SPORT AND RECREATION DEPARTMENTS
GOLF CLUBS AND COURSES - WHERE SPACE IS RESTRICTED

PLANNING PERMISSION
- Due to remaining technically a 'movable object' (even if permanently cited), Mobilerange Units generally hold certain advantages over fixed buildings in terms of planning permission approval.
- Apart from usually having an automatic 30 day temporary period in virtually all areas of the UK, the likelihood of a much longer period being granted is fairly strong in most areas.
- Planning permission can be an arcane subject in certain localities and to conform fully, an application for full planning consent would usually be lodged as a first step.
- Where Mobilerange unit/units are proposed, the vast majority of planning committee's will recognise that the units require no building works, or building regulations.
- Much of the inherent advantage stems from the fact the units can be removed - leaving no trace - in around half an hour, obviously this is simply not possible with any built structure.
- Hence in terms of testing a venue or location where there may be some local reservations, a committee will tend to look far more favourably at the unit/units application in terms of any extended period consents.

Testimonials
*Note: The statements below are the personal statements of the individuals concerned.
Marriott Hollins Hall Hotel & Country Club, Yorkshire
"Having been installed now for four months, the unit has proved to meet all the promises made and expectations I had when ordering. The product has been a great addition to current facilities and proved to be popular with both members and hotel guests. I have passed details to my Marriott colleagues and would fully endorse this product if asked for feedback" - Gary Pearce, (formerly) Director of Golf.
The Gleneagles Hotel
"I am pleased to confirm that a Mobilerange unit was used by the Gleneagles Hotel for the duration of the G8 Summit held at the hotel in July 2005. The range unit proved to be successful with our members/visitors and we were able to continue with our teaching schedules." - Russell Smith, Head Golf Professional, The Gleneagles Hotel.
Nike Golf (Europe) - The Open Championship - Nike Demo Event, St. Andrews
" I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your help and assistance with the Driving Bay Unit at the St. Andrews Duke's Course last week. Although the unit was not utilised as much as it would have been had the weather been different, it created the "look" that Nike had desired at the range. I hope we can work together again in the future" - Nick Thomson, Project Manager, Limelight Projects, (Project Management company for Nike's Dedicated Demonstration Area).
Tain Golf Club - "In the far north of Scotland our golfing season is a short one. Since the introduction of a Mobilerange it has added another dimension to golf coaching in our area. It has been a tremendous asset in helping the ordinary club golfer get tuition in the harshest of conditions when otherwise their clubs would have spent the winter in their locker. The Mobilerange has also allowed me for the first time to conduct uninterrupted elite coaching for our talented junior regional squads." - Stuart Morrison, Golf Professional, Tain Golf Club / Academy Coach S.G.U.
Nairn Dunbar Golf Club - "The Mobilerange unit has been a valuable asset for my winter coaching at Nairn Dunbar Golf Club, which is a Scottish Golf Union Training Centre. Players travel from far and wide for coaching at the club and the range unit has meant that sessions are still on even in the worst weather conditions. Our practice ground and facilities are fantastic but they are a five minute walk from the clubhouse. The range unit has come in very handy as a storage area for balls and equipment which has solved some logistical problems. Now that I have got used to having the facility I would not like to be without it." - David Torrance, Golf Professional, Nairn Dunbar Golf Club, S.G.U. National Academy Coach and North District Area Coach.

Finance Options
The Mobilerange operation (through MSL Innovate Ltd) have now formed an official marketing partnership with Golf Finance Ltd, the well established finance company, specialising in dedicated finance for the golf industry in the U.K. A wide range of flexible financing packages are available to suit all types of end-user requirements.
Even if sited permanently, the Mobilerange units remain technically classified as moveable objects - allowing lease type financing to be implemented for acquisition. This is in stark contrast to any conventionally built structure and offers a number of advantages covering start-up costs, immediate income where units are used in any way commercially (even with a more nominal charge for ball use) and possible tax advantages. As one example, using a single 3-Bay unit acquired via a standard finance lease contract over 5 years, the figures broken down to reflect the actual weekly and daily costs are as follows:
Mobilerange 3-Bay Unit c/w Roller Shutter Doors
(excepting deposit and transport/installation costs) = Weekly Cost of : £126.36 + vat producing a Daily Cost of £18.05 + vat
*As illustrated in this example - charging only a more nominal £2.00 per basket of balls, only 9 users are required to completely cover these charges.
